I love the way her nose is white on one side and brown on the other. She almost looks like she’s sneering. But, she’s much too sweet for that. Ruby is a wonderment. She’s a true comfort to us all!

Comfort (One Deep Breath)

My father-in-law ended his battle with cancer yesterday.  So this prompt is very timely for me, as well.  Perhaps too timely but here are some thoughts on comfort in tanka form.

Offerings of food
Balance the need to comfort
With the need to grieve alone
