Ruby Tuesday

Ruby Tuesday

So, how did Ruby spend her weekend? Well, not in 100 degree heat stuck in a motorhome because we were off river rafting if that’s what you were thinking. Nope, not a bit of it.

She got to visit Gramma all weekend! I’m sure she got spoiled rotten! Cheese nibbles all the time, her own little hand-painted water dish (you think I’m kidding, but I’m totally not!). Gramma loved having her . . . here is her report:

Well, she was a joy. . . . and as good as gold! 🙂 However, last night around 2:30AM little footsteps moved over my quilt and she carefully and quietly curled up next to me. Guess she didn’t want to wake me up and put her back in her kennel. Guess I didn’t zip it up properly. And she was perfectly still until I got up at 7AM. Pretty amazing. She is so smart. So female . . . .

I had to laugh — she is NOT that good at home. If she comes up on our bed at 2:30AM, she leaps on me and licks my face. And, I’m not at all sure that she didn’t do the same thing to my mother-in-law . . .she uses the same line when she’s had the kids overnight too . . . “good as gold.” Well, Grammas are supposed to love unconditionally.

Ruby was really glad to see us though — she loves Gramma but home is home. I’m sure my children will feel the same way — they’re having fun with my mother and stepdad this week but they’ll be glad to be home!

What a good Gramma to spoil Ruby for a weekend! Doesn’t it make you feel like a superstar when you pick up the dog after a weekend like that and see her get hysterical with joy? What an ego boost.

You’re right- Grandmas are supposed to love unconditionally. What a sweet little dog! I hope you’ll post about your camping trip too.

I’ll bet she WAS as good as gold, Liza. Dogs know when they are guests…

    Tee-hee!

My Mom says the same thing about our girls when they stay with her. “They were perfect!”
Yeah, Mom. You’ve being smoking the oregano again, haven’t you?

It has been so unbearably hot. We’re headed out in a couple weeks to camp in Puget Sound and I can not wait- flying and leaving the RV parked. At least yours has some paint on it. Rich got his 35 ft Gulfstream when he was doing some work for the Indy Racing League and it was slated to be detailed but never got there- so now we have the world’s largest white elephant in more ways than one.
