Yes! When we left Santa Cruz, so many things were already blooming. We’ve come home to winter, but there are leaf buds on everything, and the crocus is blooming. Ah spring, beautiful pics.
Flowering quince. Evidently, it’s easy to root and I’m going to try to root some and a truly lovely local rose that climbs and blooms prolifically! Glad you all enjoyed it. Trixie — you are welcome to return to the Motherland anytime you want! 🙂
Something about gorgeous spring flowers — even draws lurkers out to comment. Welcome one and all!
Awww. The migration map says the Ruby-Throateds will be be March 21st. I’ve have my feeders up by the 15th!!! I felt spring today but we are far behind you!
Don’t forget, Mary! I have hummers year ’round. The Anna’s stay here all the time and the Allens/Rofous Hummers migrate through and get here around mid-February. So, I have year round Hummers.
Trixie – I’ll look at the Cecil Bruener rose — sounds interesting.
Rick, the picture was on purpose and I had missed about a dozen shots where the hummer was absolutely posing for me but I couldn’t find it while I was zoomed in.
Susan, yup — that’s me, just showing off. Ha-ha-ha my climate’s better than yours! My climate’s better than yours! My climate’s better cuz we get hummingbirds in winter (sing that part really fast). My climate’s better than yours!
Oooh, even more exotic. I wonder if it would grow here? I love that color, I truly do. Our hummingbirds have not returned yet… it’s still a bit too cold for them, I think.
But it does remind me, I got buzzed last year when I left the Halloween lights up too long. Apparently, this poor hummingbird thought they were feeders and was none-too-pleased with me upon discovering the mistake. My bad, bird. 😀 ~W
Oh my, YES I do!!! Thank you Liza!! Yay for spring!
You’re so welcome, Pam! Isn’t that Quince beautiful? I am definitely planting some in my yard! So, so, so lovely and it was teeming with hummingbirds!

Oh, gorgeous! What a treat! Thank you, thank you. I am so tempted to just hop on the next flight and wander around the central coast now. Dang!
What a gorgeous picture! Thank you!
I also love your “stupid” quizes on Fridays. I’m even earlier than you – 6:49am. The quizes are fun.
Ooh… crab apples?? 😀 So pretty. I love that coral pink color.
Thank you! I needed that.

Ohhh…I had an Allen’s nest in a hanging begonia outside my window when I lived on Beachview. That was such a nice spring. Ahhh….
And maybe you should try a Cecil Bruener rose, they do really well around there. The smell has some spice in it.
very cool picture was it an accident or on purpose?
I probably needed that hummingbird more than the flowers! Thanks and I can’t wait for my hummingbirds to return!
You show-off.
🙂

Glad everyone liked the shot of springtime!
Oh, I am sooooo jealous! Can’t wait to see the Ruby-throats back for the season. Closing my eyes and sighing….
