Life with a rat terrier is endlessly fascinating. Ruby is obsessed with keeping us safe from vermin. We’re, to be honest, okay with that. Vermin aren’t exactly high on our list of favorite critters. But, despite living next to the woods and along a creek, her job was pretty seriously easy in the vermin department. It seems word got out in the vermin community that a ratter was here and we’re just not seeing the rats and squirrels that we used to see. Ruby gets bored without regular squirrel chasing time.
So, we have toys. Lots and lots of toys. Ruby loves to play and is most ferocious in said play. She attacks the toys and leaps and chases and throws and races through the house with them. She shakes them and breaks their necks again and again. Playing with us with her toys is a great joy to Miss Ruby. As you can see:
