Fun Rock Meme from up North

24 Mar

Thanks, Clare!

1) What is the first rock concert you ever went to?

I went and saw Heart with John Cougar (before he was John Cougar Mellancamp much less John Mellancamp).  Greg had been to many concerts and really couldn’t believe that I’d never been to one.  It was amazing.  I’m pretty sure I wore sunglasses with heart-shaped lenses to the concert.  It was in 1982, I believe.  Summer between high school and college.
2) What is the best rock concert you’ve seen?

Indigo Girls playing in Santa Cruz.  Big lawn area, blankets all spread out.  We got their late and found friends who had gotten their early and had a good spot.  We danced and sang and rocked out — so awesome!
3) Tag you’re it.

I’m going to anyone who wants to try.

    Love Indigo Girls.

I went to a few concerts back in the very early 70’s but wasn’t too fond of any of them since I’m not into hard rock. BUT – don’t laugh, the most exciting concert I saw was when (early nineties) I took my daughter to see NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK. Really, the house shook and I couldn’t hear well for a few days.

    Saw Madonna. Awesome.

I’m trying to remember the first concert I went to at the Fillmore East in New York, 1969. I’ll have to ask my siblings because we went to so many. The best concert I ever went to: WOODSTOCK. Yep, 1969 the original. Truly the best.

My first concert was 1989…Tesla and Great White. It RAWKED.

    The best….KISS in 1998.

Ritchie Havens. He sang Strawberry Fields Forever. Oh, it makes me swoon just to remember it…This was about 6 months after he sang at Woodstock (Robin Andrea and I are soul sisters).

Your first is sometimes the best- but in this case I think that goes to Yo-Yo Ma at Tanglewood.
