What a testament to nature, and, I might add, a perfect spot for a big nest. :c)

Albion River used to have a logging railroad on it. There are pilings that run the length of the river. They haven’t been used for around 100 years. It’s amazing, isn’t it? How nature takes its own back? I didn’t see any but our guide, my sister-in-law’s boyfriend, Bob, said that there are some with nests in them. I loved the way grasses and even chamomile are growing out of it.

Yes! I’ve been seeing huge old-growth redwood stumps with lush foliage growing and flourishing. It’s so beautiful. I’m glad you photographed this. We’re seeing the same pretty sights.
