Summer Heat

100 + degrees
sticky drippy
whiney tired
miserable hot
draining energy
sapping strength
every effort is too much.
eating is too much.
popsicles are too . . .
wait, no they aren’t.


Fires abound this year
Burning fields and trees
and homes
Burning dreams and plans
and lives

    popsicles yes! fires no! (like we have much choice on the latter)

    It was still 100 at 7 pm yesterday. BLEAH!

    Only supposed to be 93 today though.

    Yesterday peaked at just about 100 – remained above 90 overnight – I’ll have to stock up on popsicles again today
