The Zen of knitting , I like it!
Great Poem.
Thank You!
Wonderful way of expressing distraction.
Enjoyed this. Reminded me of my wife during our baby days – cardies, mits, you name it.
I love it. Now I know why I was never successful at it.
Your poem makes me think of the ladies I know who knit prayer shawls. For them the work is a gift of meditation and prayer. Thanks for the humor as well as the insight.
I haven’t had the time to quilt, knit or crochet in quite a while, but I preferred the terms, “un-sewed” and “un-knitted” to “ripping out”. It seemed to indicate that I had actually planned to do it! hahaha!
Hi, Liza–
I can sooooo relate…
Thanks for the smiles and the remembrance that distractions can be the path home to attention and intention…
So much wisdom here, not to mention humor. And the photo made me smile even more – no wonder knitting is so hard, you have no opposable thumbs!!
This is so true! I am a beginner crocheter and have unraveled many a time due to distractions.
Fun poem and I love the photo. The ultimate distraction… the 4-legged assistant.
Love this – I haven’t done any knitting, sewing or crocheting since I found the computer which has a nifty ‘delete’ key. I’m waiting for the techs to come up with needles and hooks bearing the same easy un-do.
Such dedication. Love the middle part. And that photo is a pure delight.
now that is hilarious!!! i have a young kitty who loves to sneak into my yarn… oh the stories.. thank you for making me laugh..!!
Oh yes I remember ripping it out. Such fun, I really enjoyed your “distraction” thank you.
