This Western Grebe caught my eye at Elkhorn Slough last week.  It was swimming alone, although there was a large flock of Buffleheads nearby.  It looked lonely but then . . .

I realized that maybe it was looking for some alone time.

Taking care of a little personal grooming without comments from the peanut gallery.

A thorough cleaning . . . Grebe style!

It’s Spring after all and a Grebe has to look her best.  His best?  Its best?

Ahhhhh, so much better!

Happy Spring, everyone!

    Happy Spring Liza!

Sometimes it’s good to have some alone time.
