Just the one

Golden-crowned Sparrow
Not a lifer. Not the most common. Not a showy standout of a bird. But, a happy surprise. There were dozens of White-Crowned Sparrows on the hedge. I took a couple of shots to capture them, hoping for a really nice shot. Instead, I got a surprise. A golden crown gracing one of them . . . I love surprises!

A Golden-crowned is making a big fuss here in northern Illinois. I’m not chasing it but it sure is fun reading about everyone else that’s going after it. Great photo!

    Oh, so beautiful.

I thought of you yesterday when we saw a Bald Eagle in a tree on the river walk. I tried to get a photo with my portable nikon, but it was so grainy and fuzzy–not worth posting. But, I tried!!

Cool. Seeing an eagle is always a good thing! Wish the pics had turned out but still getting to see an eagle. Awesome! Thanks for thinking of me!
