American Avocets

American Avocets.  Amazing birds.  They are so lovely.

American Avocet

They are intrepid hunters.  Graceful and deadly.

See what I mean?

I love the clear distinction between males and females.

American Avocets

Persistent, aren’t they?

We very seldom see Avocets here in southwestern Ontario. Once in a great while. About 3 years ago, we had one visit my town of Strathroy, Ontario. It stayed for about 2 days and then disappeared. Your pictures are great. Thanks

Thanks! These Avocets were really comfortable with all the people nearby. It’s an active bike/walk trail so they see all sorts of people. I thought they were so beautiful!
