    Awww; great capture! I used to call them mud hens too. I love coots. Their lobed feet are so cute. (My husband tells me this is a weird definition of “cute,” but whatever.)

      I like the term “mud hens.” I find their feet disturbing — sort of as if a duck and a possum mated but maybe that’s just me! Thanks for visiting!
