I saw this bird under my feeder today. I’ve never seen anything like it. I hope it continues to visit me. It’s wild!

My folks just bought a retirement house in Carson City, NV. I am shocked and surprised and happy for them. It’s exactly what my mom has always wanted — although she wanted to buy something on the coast. They just didn’t want to spend all their money that way so they compromised. I hope they have many happy years there.

I LOVE these birds. Chestnut-backed Chickadees. They are my most common bird. Sometimes I have 12+ at my feeder at once. They are sweet and brazen. I was standing within arms reach of these birds and they couldn’t care less — well, except to scold me to fill the feeder back up!

My route was the same as last week but I went farther — 2.25 miles. Feel good. Thighs are a little achey. Ate before I left this time so that I had some fuel. Had to eat again when I got home — shaky, low blood sugar feelng. Saw some interesting birds. Pretty sure on the IDs.
